The DOGS NSW Agility Sub-Committee is pleased to confirm the details for the 2026 NSW State Team Selection Trial, which will determine the teams representing New South Wales at the 2026 Agility Nationals in Queensland.
After careful consideration and extensive discussion, the Committee has determined that all team selections will take place at a single, centralised event. This ensures all competitors run under the same conditions, on the same courses, and are judged to the same standard.
Venue: DOGS NSW Grounds, Orchard Hills
Dates: Saturday 28 February (evening) & Sunday 1 March 2026 (early start)
Saturday 28 February – Normal Agility Trial (Qualifying Cards Awarded)
Saturday evening will operate as a standard Dogs Australia sanctioned trial, where competitors can earn qualifying cards as usual. Masters runs will count towards team selection. Juniors will be required to run on the Saturday only.
Classes offered:
Sunday will consist of:
Qualifying cards cannot be earned on Sunday, and competitors at any level may enter (including those not yet competing in Masters). Lower-level dogs may enter and run NFC (toys permitted, no food).
We acknowledge that this structure differs from past years where selection results were drawn from multiple trials across NSW. While no single location will perfectly suit everyone, centralising the selection process provides greater consistency, fairness, and transparency.
Nominations for Senior and Junior Teams close Friday 20 February 2026. Late nominations will not be accepted.
Full selection criteria and eligibility requirements are outlined in the attached document and available on the Agility NSW website.
